This online guide has detailed information on all 14-19 Learning Pathways courses, that currently take place at Barry College, in conjunction with local schools, from Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan.
The pathways courses give students the opportunity to study vocational courses and gain vital life skills, with Barry College, as a part of their normal school timetable. In 2007, the efforts of Barry College within this sector were awarded, when they were selected out of all the colleges in Wales to receive an award from Fforwm, the national body representing colleges in Wales, for leading the way in the development of 14-19 Learning Pathways. Programmes developed by Barry College and partner schools were recognised as the most innovative and successful in the country. Over the last year the numbers of pupils participating in 14-19 courses have greatly increased, with over 600 pupils from local schools now attending the college on a weekly basis. This is set to increase next year. The courses are seeing high levels of attainment and progression, as well as good feedback from both schools and students alike.
