This is an LEVEL 1 Course.
Every college course is given a level 1(lowest) – 5 (highest). This level helps you know what the entry requirements are and if it will be suitable for you.

For part-time courses it also indicates the amount of study involved – for example an introductory course would be a lower level there is not much extra study involved.

How long is the course?
The course is full-time and runs for 1 academic year starting September.
When will I be in College?
Monday-Friday 9.00-4.00pm
How much study is involved?
You will be taught in College for approximately 20hrs every week. Some parts of the course will be delivered off site at the local sport facilities and other venues.
What will I study?
You will study a range of subjects including Travel destinations, Presentation and Display, Customer Care, Junior sports leader, Improving own Fitness, Participating in Sport, Confidence Building, Life Skills, Information Technology, Communication, Application of Number, Improving own Learning, Planning and taking part outdoor activities.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught through a variety of means including lectures, role-plays, practical sessions, education visits, questions and answers sessions, guest speakers and individual research.
How will I be assessed?
You are assessed through portfolio building and assignment work and in some subjects through examinations.
What opportunities will the course provide me with?
Following successful completion of this course, learners can progress onto National Certificate in Travel and Tourism or BTEC First Diploma in Sport.
How much will it cost?
The course is free with a £10 registration fee.
There will be on course costs to cover the cost of trips to places such as Oakwood, Quasar, camping, paint balling, Bowling and the Big Pit, Coaching Polo Shirt. These costs are approximately £110.
