There are two ways to train for a career in painting and decorating. The first way is to find a relevant job and come to College whilst working and gain NVQ qualifications. If you choose this route you will come to College one day a week. Alternatively, if you are not employed in the industry you can study a full-time course at College. On a full-time course you can gain a qualification in under 2 years that gives you the skills to progress into work as a painting and decorating tradesperson. Once in work, you can then gain the vital industry experience to convert your qualification into a NVQ – the requirement to become a fully qualified and registered painting and decorating tradesperson. We also offer popular introduction courses various aspects of in painting and decorating. There is a need for skilled and qualified painting and decorating professionals. Most construction students secure a job in their chosen trade by the end of their course, with over 50% gaining apprenticeship employment during their course.
