Would you like a qualification to work in IT?
Or do you want to improve your computer skills?

Barry College has a range of computing and IT courses, from courses for absolute beginners to higher education qualifications.

Full-time courses are for people who want a computer qualification to progress into employment working with computers or to go to university.

Part-time courses are for those looking to increase their computer skills. This may be for work or for pleasure – keeping up with the children, or grandchildren!

All courses are taught in well-equipped computer rooms using the latest software. Many courses are taught at our great Barry College, Waterfront IT Centre – the largest and most modern IT training facility in the area.

Where will it take me?
Many BTEC National Diploma students apply to university during their course, to study an IT related subject. Others go into employment working with computers.

Past students on full-time courses have progressed onto careers working as Computer Systems Managers, IT Technicians, Computer Programmers, IT Specialists, Web Designers and Programmers and IT Teachers.

BTEC National Diploma IT Practitioners
“As an adult learner I was initially nervous about coming to College, but being in a class of people of mixed ages has been really beneficial.  I have really enjoyed my time as a learner in the College and am hoping to progress onto the HNC in Computing.”
