Barry College is a leading training provider for the hair and beauty industry in South Wales. Our full-time courses train people of all ages to start careers such as Hair Stylists, Colourists, Beauty Therapists and Holistic Therapy Consultants. These courses have a practical focus, with work experience in the College and outside salons. Our part-time courses offer those already working in hair or beauty salons the opportunity to gain industry recognised qualifications. These courses are run by day release or during the evening. Many part-time courses are also suitable if you want to gain hair, beauty or holistic therapy skills – to start a new career or simply for enjoyment. All courses are taught in our new, state of the art beauty and holistic therapy salon – `Academi @ Barry College’. It is recognised as one of the best facilities in the country – with L’Oreal and Goldwell also using it for their own training courses. Where can it take me?

“I was always interested in hairdressing whilst at school but was persuaded to follow a secretarial course. So when the opportunity arose for me to come to College many years later to study Hairdressing I took it. I complemented my studies with various beauty courses and once qualified worked at a salon whilst studying higher level hairdressing courses. I am now working as Salon Manager in ‘Academi @ Barry College’ – the Barry College hair and beauty training academy and studying the HNC in Business Management and Administration. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a learner at College – it took my career in a whole new and exciting direction!”
